Karl LAGERFELD in the wine univers: Did you know it ?
Karl Lagerfeld, the famous designer who recently disappeared, did not consume alcohol in his daily life. He had a different opinion about wine tasting. This one was even the creator of a label of Château Rauzan-Ségla 2009, property of the house Chanel. This approach as artistic director also took place for the house of Champagne Dom Pérignon with a famous design box.
Chanel is of course one of the most legendary fashion houses in the world. But did you know that they also own a famous vineyard? Founded in 1661 by Pierre de Rauzan, Château Rauzan-Ségla, located in the heart of the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region, France, was acquired by Chanel in 1994.
With a unique position in the world of luxury products and its independence society, Chanel «strives to exalt the unique and precious qualities of this great vineyard with the utmost care and respect for its vineyards.» To celebrate the 350th anniversary of the institution, the Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld created a special label.
The Label of the Château Rauzan-Ségla by Karl LAGERFELD
The Lagerfeld brand adorns the new 2009 vintage, renowned for its «incomparable bouquet, its silky and intense tannins and its elegant taste» which characterize all the wines of the Grand Cru Classé of Château Rauzan-Ségla. Ever since the acquisition, Chanel has been credited with a constant improvement of the precious tiered elixir.
For the special bottling, Lagerfeld made a drawing of the Château Rauzan-Ségla himself in his inimitable style, which of course bears his signature.
